Alarm Detection and Communication
Argus install many different types of systems for our customers, our experienced surveyors will visit your property and design an appropriate system to suit your needs and requirements, including wire-free systems, hard-wired systems, text alert systems, speech dialling systems and the more accessible higher security off-site monitored systems that in most provide police response. Moving with technology many customers now are requesting App controlled systems, these are great, although we only recommend these for residential applications for small to medium risk properties as they don't currently support police response.
For medium, to high-risk properties, we recommend police response monitored systems with dual path monitoring. Argus install three main monitoring solutions, phone line, mobile network and the internet, more information about these solutions can be found in our monitoring section.
Argus Intruder alarm systems can protect your business and property in many ways. We can provide perimeter detection systems which protect the exterior doors and windows, internal systems that are operated by movement detectors and door contacts, and plenty of other options you may not have considered such as, pet immune detectors, panic alarms, smoke detectors, flood detectors, break glass detectors and interruption beams.
For an alarm to receive Police Response, the system must comply with the relevant standard. Should the system conform with the relevant standard, the alarm company can then apply for a Unique Reference Number (URN) to be issued by the system. The current standard for Police Response Systems in the UK BS8243:2010, this standard has various options for setting and unsetting the alarm. The most common method for setting and unsetting a Police Response Monitored Alarm System is via a digital key (proximity fob).
Argus has installed many fog cannons for our customers in Wigan and Warrington which are ideally used for schools, shops, banks and warehouses. Fog cannons are designed to operate on an intruder activation in a high-risk area. They work by filling the room with a synthetic smoke which aims to stop an intruder in their tracks and deter them from entering the room any further. The fog is completely safe to breathe and will not in any way damage stock. When fitted correctly, these can be an effective solution to protect high-value stock and can sometimes reduce your insurance premium.
